Hunter punched, hit in face with shotgun in west Ada County field
MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) —
A 65-year-old hunter was attacked by another man while hunting in a west Ada County field earlier this month.
The Ada County Sheriff's Office says the hunter received permission to go bird hunting on a field off the 4400 block of McDermott Road Oct. 18 when another hunter approached him while he was walking by an irrigation canal.
The man says the hunter asked the man why he was on private property and told him he wasn't allowed to be there. That's when the hunter cussed him out, punched him in the face and then hit the 65-year-old with the butt of the shotgun.
The man said the hunter then threw the man’s rifle into the water-filled irrigation canal and ran away.
The man said he saw the hunter run west along the canal toward McDermott Road. He described the hunter as being about 6 feet 4 inches tall. The hunter was wearing a camouflage beanie and had a red complexion. He also had a chocolate colored Lab along with him.
Anyone with information about the hunter is asked to call 208-377-6790.
