Homes evacuated after crash, gas leak reported in Nampa
NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) —
A crashed vehicle has led to the evacuation of some homes in Nampa.
Police tell KBOI 2News that the crash, near Amity and 12th Avenue, has caused residents nearby to be evacuated as a precaution due to a gas leak.
Electricity and natural gas in the area has been shut off.
Officers say a 36-year-old Greenleaf man, David Valdez, and a 28-year-old passenger crashed their vehicle into the East Amity Home. Police say the vehicle crashed into the home and ended up in the kitchen area.
Valdez and his passenger were taken to the hospital for natural gas exposure. Charges related to the crash are pending as it's still under investigation.
