Heading up Highway 21? Expect a couple of inches of water on the road in some spots
IDAHO CITY, Idaho (KBOI) —
Drivers heading up Highway 21 toward Idaho City should expect to see lots of water on the road.
The Boise County Sheriff's Office told KBOI 2News that a high-rising Grimes Creek is producing backed up water in some locations along the highway, with some locations seeing a couple inches of water.
The water isn't affecting travel, but dispatchers say drivers need to be cautious if they plan to head up into the mountains or to Idaho City.
The Idaho Transportation Department says the most affected areas are about eight miles north of Boise to Idaho City.
Farther up the road, Highway 21 is still closed at Grandjean Road to Banner Creek Summit due to avalanche risk.
