Fourplex units damaged in two-alarm fire in west Boise

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Two units in a fourplex were damaged by a second-alarm fire Friday afternoon in Boise.

When crews arrived, they found one of the units full of smoke, which caused the call for a second alarm.

Firefighters went inside the west Boise unit and found the source of the smoke coming from a closet beneath a stairwell that housed a water heater. Firefighters saw scortching around the water heater, broke open the wall and found flames.

Firefighters could see the wall was shared by an adjacent residential unit. They made entry into that unit and were able to quickly knock down the fire in the shared wall. The second unit suffered just minor smoke damage. The second unit had some smoke damage but was unoccupied.
