Former Superintendent of Public Instruction announces interest in congressional seat
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
Former Idaho Superintendant of Public Instruction, Tom Luna, has announced in a statement through the Associated Press that he is "strongly considering stepping forward" as a candidate for congress.
"I am strongly considering stepping forward to serve the great people of Idaho and run for the open seat in the First Congressional District." The statement said.
Luna said he will wait until Congressman Raul Labrador, who has stated he intends to run for governor, releases his official announcement to make his announcement official. In the meantime, Luna says he will continue to visit with the people of the First Congressional District.
