Felon on the loose after standoff captured at Meridian gas station

MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) - Police say they've tracked down a wanted felon on the loose for more than a week after a standoff in Nampa.

Police have been looking for Fabian Salinas, who's wanted on several felony warrants including aggravated assault on a police officer, eluding, aggravated battery, burglary and felony drug possession.

Meridian Police told KBOI 2News that officers received information that Salinas was in the Meridian area. He was later arrested Monday afternoon at a convenience store near McMillan and Locust Grove and taken into custody without incident.

Officials say Salinas was on the run for more than a week after a standoff at a home on Gossamer Street in Nampa. It's still unclear whether Salinas was at the home at the time of the standoff and managed to escape or if he was never home all together.
