Employees at HP campus allowed to return to evacuated building

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Some employees on the HP campus were evacuated Thursday afternoon after potential suspicious activity.

Police say a note that made vague references to possible violence found in the building prompted the evacuation as a precaution.

Boise PD says officers were called out to the campus after management asked for assistance.

Police say there is no threat to the community and no injuries have been reported.

The building affected is not owned or operated by Hewlett-Packard, but is located on the western end of the HP campus.

Some employees in other buildings on campus have told KBOI 2News that they heard an announcement over the PA that there was an active shooter in the area. Boise Police say that isn't accurate.

By 5:30 p.m., police had cleared the scene and employees were allowed to return to the building.

Officers say they are still investigating who may be responsible for the note.
