Elmore County deputies shoot, kill man with 'very large military style knife'

Elmore County sheriff deputies shot and killed a man Friday morning at a home after police say he threatened deputies with a large military style knife.

Police say deputies were called out to a home after it was reported that a driver was driving recklessly on the property in a white pickup truck with Nevada plates.

Deputies say that a car chase escalated.

After the man got out of the vehicle, deputies say the man brandished a large military style knife and threatened deputies.

It was at that point that an Elmore County deputy shot and killed the man. No deputies were injured.

Idaho State Police, which is leading the investigation. They are still working to figure out what the man was doing on the wind farm.
