Crews rescue man after fall from Black Cliffs east of Boise

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - A 35-year-old man was taken to the hospital after falling from the Black Cliffs along Highway 21 east of Boise Thursday evening.

Because of the terrain, it took firefighters nearly 30 minutes to reach the man and get him to an ambulance.

Firefighters say the man is an experienced climber and that it appears an equipment failure may be the cause of the fall.

The extent of the climber's injuries isn't being released, but officials say he was awake and talking with the rescue crews and is expected to be OK.
