Craters of the Moon searchers find body of missing Boise woman
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Craters of the Moon said Wednesday that searchers have found the body of missing Boise woman Dr. Jo Elliott-Blakeslee.
Elliott-Blakeslee and her hiking partner Amy Linkert left Boise in mid September for a trip to Craters of the Moon National Monument. Linkert died of exposure, an autopys later revealed.
Her body was found about one mile from the location where searchers earlier found Linkert's body. A cause of death for Elliott-Blakeslee has not been determined.
The friends were reported missing Sept. 24 and last seen at a campground in nearby Arco.
"We hope that this will bring closure to her family, friends and all those who have been involved in the search," said Dan Buckley, park superintendent. "We join the family in thanking the searchers and local communities for the tremendous outpouring of support that we have received throughout this intense effort."
