Caldwell Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man they say tried to rob a chinese restaurant Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the attempted robbery happened around 12:45 p.m. in the 200 block of S 21st Ave.

Officers say witnesses told them the man entered the business through the front door and demanded cash from an employee.

The witnesses say the man then pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot the employee if he didn't get the money.

However, before receiving any money the man then reportedly ran back out the front door and ran away.

Police say they did an extensive area check but weren't able to find the man.

Witnesses described him as white, about 5'8" tall, weighing about 160 pounds, wearing a brown shirt and blue jeans. He was also reportedly wearing a white or cream colored bandana on his head with blue designs.
