BSU football clinches spot in MW Championship: what this means for bowl game predictions

Boise and Fresno clinched a spot in the conference championship game on December 2nd. How BSU plays the next two games against Air Force tonight and Fresno next week determines if they will host the championship game here on the blue. (File Photo)

Two games remaining for Boise State Football and the countdown to bowl game selection has begun. Where will they go and who will they play?

"Probably not going to be one of those years where Boise state goes to the fiesta bowl or the big bowl games too much fire power in the ACC so really for Boise State there best fit right now is the Las Vegas Bowl, to make that happen they'd have to win the conference championship game, they have to get there first obviously. If they win the championship game then they'll probably go to the Las Vegas bowl and probably play a PAC 12 team and that'll be a pretty good spot for them," said BJ Raines of BlueTurfSports.com.

With Fresno State's win over Wyoming earlier today, Boise and Fresno clinched a spot in the conference championship game on December 2nd. Now, how BSU plays the next two games against Air Force tonight and Fresno next week determines if they will host the championship game here on the blue.

"Obviously still want to win here tonight against air force. They've lost to them 3 years in a row, but really they're in the conference championship game in 2 weeks and what happens really for them the rest of the two weeks really doesn't matter."

If BSU wants to host the championship game here at Albertsons Stadium, they probably need to win both of these last two games to be able to do that.

BSU will also need to beat Fresno in the conference championship for the best bowl game possible. The Broncos played in the Vegas bowl game three years in a row from 2010 to 2012 and the Broncos beat Utah, Arizona State and the University of Washington.

This year, if they make it to the Las Vegas Bowl they'll likely face UCLA or Oregon.
