Boise State defensive back Michael Young was arrested for DUI early Sunday morning.

According to the Ada County Sheriff's Office arrest report, Young was booked at 3:39 a.m. for suspicion of driving while under the influence. He is due in court on Monday.

Boise State released a statement Sunday morning that said, "Boise State is aware of Michael Young’s arrest earlier this morning. As is always the case, the matter will be handled appropriately and internally."

It is the second consecutive weekend that a Boise State football player was arrested. Defensive tackle David Moa was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace early in the morning on September 16.

Young missed Boise State’s season opener against Troy for undisclosed reasons, but has played in the three games since in a reserve role and has four tackles.

The 6-foot, 211-pound Young arrived as a junior college transfer in the spring and was listed as the co-starter on the depth chart to start fall camp. He has played sparingly since debuting against Washington State in week two.

Young, a Kansas City, Missouri, native, was a 3-star prospect when he transferred to the Broncos from Dodge City Community College in January.

Boise State is coming off a 42-23 loss to Virginia on Friday night. The Broncos have a bye this week before returning to action on Friday, Oct. 6, at BYU.
