Boise river flooding alters Friday's Bike to Work lunchtime route

Ada County’s Bicycle Committee continues to work hard to make sure all our facilities are bicycle friendly with improved resources, education and encouragement.

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) – National Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 19th and Ada County officials are encouraging everyone to get around town on two wheels.

But this year, Friday's lunchtime group bike ride with county officials will take a different route due to the Boise River flooding.

Elected officials and employees will meet in the west parking lot of the Ada County Courthouse and ride down 3rd Street to Julia Davis Park.

Employees will meet at the Abraham Lincoln Statue for a group photo and then ride back to the Courthouse for a food truck lunch.

Everyone is invited to celebrate with Ada County.

If you don’t have a bike, you can rent one from a Boise GreenBike station.

The League of American Bicyclists recently named Ada County a Bronze Bicycle Family Business and the county has also participated in May in Motion.
