Boise passes e-cigarette ban for city workers

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - The Boise City Council has approved a change in policy that includes e-cigarettes on the list of banned tobacco use while city workers are on the job.

Cigarettes, pipes and snuff are already off limits at work.

The council voted on the policy change as part of its consent agenda at Tuesday's city council meeting.

City employees will not be allowed to use e-cigarettes near entrances to city buildings, in city parks or in city vehicles. Violations would be a personnel matter that supervisors would address.

The new policy takes effect Wednesday.
