Boise Fire Department continues raising thousands for charity

BOISE - Members of the Boise Fire Department continue to raise thousands upon thousands of dollars for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

This past Tuesday, firefighters got help from the Piper Pub & Grill, which hosted the annual "Tip a Firefighter" event at the downtown restaurant.

100 percent of the tips firefighters earned during Tuesday's event were donated to the charity, which sponsors the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle on Sunday, March 10th.

About 30 Boise firefighters have created a team wearing full-combat gear to climb 69 flights of stairs in a high-rise building.

The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb raised more than one million dollars last year, with the Boise Fire Department bringing in more than $23,000 dollars!
