Blaine County transportation director fired in response to school bus crash
BLAINE COUNTY, Idaho (KBOI) —
The Blaine County School District has let go of its transportation director in response to the school bus crash that sent a dozen students to the hospital.
A statement from Superintendent Dr. Gwen Carol Holmes says the school district found a failure to follow procedures and code of ethics in supervising drivers. The district is now taking action to prevent accidents involving students from happening again. Troopers still aren't sure of the exact cause of the crash. There are reports the driver may have been drowsy, but those reports have not been confirmed because school bus surveillance was not working at the time of the rollover.
