Big tree falls on apartment complex off Fairview Avenue

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A large tree fell on an apartment complex located off Fairview Avenue Thursday afternooon.

Boise Fire officials say no injuries were reported.

Firefighters were able to safely rescue two men who were inside the apartment.

"Fortunately they were on the opposite side of the residence when the tree came through the ceiling and into a living area," Boise Fire said in a news release.

Branches blocked the stairway leading out of the apartment preventing the two men from getting out. Engine 6 was first on scene. Crew members put a ladder up to a window. Firefighters then helped the men out of the heavily damaged apartment and down to safety.

Firefighters also evacuated residents of several other adjacent apartments as they made sure no one else was in immediate danger.

The incident occurred at an aparment located on North Liberty.
