The Idaho Attorney General said a Boise County man was sentenced Thursday for one count of rape.

According to the AG office, Jared Hendryx, 42, was sentenced to a three-year prison term and nine years indeterminate. The office says Hendryx engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl twice in April 2017 and pleaded guilty to one count of rape in October.

The Attorney General says Hendryx was fined $5,000 and is required to register as a sex offender.

Fourth Judicial District Judge Peter Barton will retain jurisdiction for up to one year the attorney general said. Hendryx will be treated and assessed by Idaho Department of Correction staff and upon completion of the treatment program, the court will make a final decision on length of incarceration according to the attorney general's office.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Gregory LeDonne in the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit.
