A 73-year-old woman was killed in a crash Thursday in Meridian and police say the driver who caused the crash will be charged with manslaughter.

The Meridian Police Department says officers were called out to a four-vehicle crash to Fairview Avenue just east of Eagle Road Thursday afternoon. They say 52-year-old Shelly Wilson of Meridian rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped in traffic that caused a chain reaction involving two other vehicles.

MPD says there's no indication that Wilson applied the brakes before the collision. The Ada County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Patricia Ann Shannon of Meridian.

Wilson was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and will then be taken to the Ada County Jail and charged with manslaughter by DUI (drugs) when she's released.
