63 pit bulls to be removed from site of triple homicide

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Authorities plan to begin removing 63 pit pulls found at the scene of a triple slaying in southeastern Idaho.

The Idaho State Journal reports Oneida County Sheriff Jeff Semrad says the removal will begin Monday.

He's been working with groups including the Idaho Humane Society to remove the dogs.

The bodies of 61-year-old Brent L. Christensen, 32-year-old Trent Jon Christensen and 27-year-old Yavette Chivon Carter were discovered Friday outside Holbrook, a town of about 400 people just north of the Idaho-Utah state line.

Semrad says he believes the victims knew the killer or killers.

A dogfighting and marijuana-growing operation was being run out of the rural ranch where the killings took place.

Many of the dogs have scars.

Cash and 38 marijuana plants worth $95,000 were in the house.
