BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - A 13-year-old girl has life-threatening injuries after getting hit by a vehicle Sunday evening while riding her bicycle.

The crash happened before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ustick Road and Jullion Street, and sent a 13-year-old girl to the hospital.

"These cases can be the most difficult, not only for officers, but for the community in searching for answers. We know we join many in the community in sending our thoughts to the families involved and all who've been touched by this tragic case." said Captain Eugene Smith of the Boise Police Patrol Division,

According to witnesses, a car traveling west on Ustick collided with the girl who was crossing Ustick on her bike.

Witnesses say the girl was riding with two other kids when the crash happened, and that she was not wearing a helmet. Police say the female driver of the sedan is being cooperative.

The crash is still under investigation.
