The Ada County Sheriff's Office is putting up various items that were confiscated or abandoned for bidding in an old-school auction this weekend.

More than 150 bikes and 100 firearms will be auctioned off Saturday morning starting at 10 a.m., the sheriff's office posted to its Facebook page.

Every year, deputies find that lost and abandoned bikes flock to the property cage and are never picked up by their owners. They keep the bicycles for about 90 days - sometimes longer than that - before putting them in the property auction.

About 70 percent of overall costs on each item go to general funds for Ada County or the city of Boise. Last year, the auction earned about $10,000.

Deputies say these auctions were done on the Internet in previous years, but this year, Corbett Auctions will host the event at 547 E. Stagecoach Road in Kuna.

The property cage has also overflowing with all kinds of things such as jewelry, electronics, tools and more that will be up for bids too.
