Steelheads get their MVP back from the Stars

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Team MVP Josh Robinson has bounced back and forth between the Idaho Steelheads and Texas Stars three times this season, but on the verge of the Kelly Cup Western Conference semifinals he's back here with the Steelies.

While playing a game of ping-pong between the ECHL and AHL must take its toll, Steelheads first-year head coach Brad Ralph says it's almost become second nature to his net minder.

"I think the thing that's working in our favor is those goalies have been up and down all year long, so they're kind of getting used to it. But yeah, from our end we can't control it. We control what we can and just gotta keep playing and winning hockey games," said coach Ralph.

"You just have to try to prepare the exact same way you do down here as you do up there. Just be ready to go when or if you're called upon," added Robinson.

Josh will be called upon during this playoff series against Reign. Game 1 goes down Friday night at 8 pm (MTN) in Ontario. My guess is many of you won't be able to make it to California, but there's a free watch party at the SportZone inside CenturyLink Arena starting at 7 pm (MTN).
