Nampa teachers say no thanks to proposed furlough days

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) - Teachers with the Nampa School District say they don't want to see any furlough days.

Another round of contract negotiations happened Thursday night, and the board decided not to make a final decision on the teacher's counter offer.

The school district proposed 14 days with no pay for next year. The teachers say those furlough days just don't add up to the savings the district said would happen.

They also want a pay raise.

Their next meeting is June 19, and the deadline to strike a deal is July 1.
