Nampa teachers face possible 14 days worth of furloughs

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) - Furlough days - 14 of them - could be the next step for teachers in the financially challenged Nampa School District.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports the proposed furloughs (no work and no pay) would add up to about $2.6 million in savings.

But there are possible cuts as well in the NSD proposal, which include cuts to life insurance and short and long term disability.

The district says if all those cuts were approved it could save more than $3 million.
