Fewer racers, few traffic problems during FitOne event in Boise

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - More than 5,000 raced in the FitOne event Saturday, but that number is just half as many as the race usually draws.

"I think it could've been more," said Doris Hart, who was racing with her "Hot Mamas" group. "I'm used to a bigger crowd, so it seemed like it could have been a little bit more."

The event was rebranded this year, which could have accounted for the decline in participants, said Race Coordinator Tanda Weeks.

She said there were no major traffic problems downtown, but event organizers will put more volunteers in the Warm Springs area where a few minor problems were reported.
