Concert raises money for athletic programs

NAMPA, Idaho - With major budget cuts and a $4.3 million shortfall, sport teams in Nampa are having to get creative with their fundraising efforts.

Saturday night a concert was held at Nampa High School. Goodnight Argent played for free. The money raised will go to paying student sport participation fees.

"It's kind of put a little hardship on some of our students and this is what we are trying to do to help some of them out," said Athletic Director John Gregory.

Gregory says this is the first year that they have really had to get smart with fundraising.

"Our coaches have raised a lot of money to support their program because we don't have money to put in their budget," said Gregory.
