Boise man sentenced for role in prostitution ring
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A Boise man who organized local prostitution at various hotels in the Treasure Valley has been sentenced to prison.
According to Idaho court records, Derrick Hicklen was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of procurement of prostitution and accepting earnings from a prostitute. He'll have to serve two years behind bars before he's eligible for parole.
Hicklen was originally charged with human trafficking, detention for prostitution, rape, procurement and video voyeurism.
Gypsie Akers, 28, was sentenced in April to serve up to 15 years for her involvement in the ring. Prosecutors say Akers helped bring women from Utah to Boise for the prostitution including a woman who was developmentally disabled.
