Bartlome's friends say they got Boone's back
KUNA, Idaho (KBOI) - Boone Bartlome is the talk of Kuna high school right before his return home. Last November the junior wide receiver broke his neck in a playoff game and is now well on his way to healing. Spencer Trautman played on the team with Boone and he says after that hit, football really didn't matter to anyone on the team. "It was our playoff game so it was the last game of the year and when he got hurt we kind of knew the season was over we didn't care about the game anymore. We were just worried about him," Trautman said.
While Boones in Colorado for therapy, Trautman says he keeps in touch with him on Skype and keeps him in the loop. "He doesn't want to talk about his injury or anything. He just wants to know how we're doing and what we're doing, he doesn't like to talk about himself a lot, he wants to know how we're doing," Trautman said.
Kuna High School officials say Bartlome is scheduled to fly in from Denver at around 2:30 pm. The plan is for him to go from the Boise airport straight to Kuna High school where he will meet up with his friends and students.
