19-year-old cut hole in pawn shop roof, stole assault rifle, police say

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) -- A 19-year-old Nampa resident was busted on the roof of a local pawn shop after a burglary alarm went off.

Nampa Police says officers were dispatched to the pawn shop, located on the 600 block of 12th Avenue.

Officers later found a hole cut in the roof where the suspect, Olin Vickers, used to get inside the shop. NPD says Vickers was later found on the roof and had several stolen items including an assault rifle.

Sgt. Tim Randall with Nampa PD says Vickers was apparently familiar with the items he had allegedly stolen because most of them belonged to him before they were pawned.

He now faces charges of vandalism, burglary and possession of burglary tools.
